About Steward's House

Built for People Who Value What They Have Worked to Achieve

We do not simply respond when things go wrong. We anticipate complexity, identify opportunities, and help you make better decisions before they become urgent.

Our Story

Built from a gap we kept seeing

Most Ugandan property owners and growing businesses were managing tax and real estate separately, with two different advisors, two different reporting cycles and no single team that saw the full financial picture. When property income changed, the tax position changed. But the two firms rarely talked to each other.

Steward’s House was built to close that gap. We bring tax advisory and property management under one roof. Not because they’re the same discipline but because the people who need one almost always need the other, and they deserve a team that understands both sides of what they’re building.

Over a decade of combined experience, and a deliberately small team. We have stayed close enough to each client’s situation to give advice that actually fits, rather than advice that scales.

Our Values

What we commit to, in practice

Transparency

We tell you what you owe before you owe it, and what our work will cost before we send an invoice. No surprises at billing time, no surprises at filing time.

Anticipation

We don't wait for problems to surface. Our job is to be ahead of your obligations, tracking thresholds, deadlines, and structural changes before they become urgent.

Accountability

You have a named contact for every engagement. When something needs to be done, you know who is doing it and when. We don't disappear between interactions.

Groundedness

Our advice is grounded in the Ugandan regulatory environment: URA practice, local property law, and market realities, not textbook positions that don't survive contact with the actual system.

Our Independence

We have no commission arrangements. No referral fees. No financial relationship with the institutions we might recommend.

When we suggest a bank, a contractor, or a legal professional, it is because they are the right fit for your situation. In the Ugandan advisory market, that independence is worth stating plainly.

How We Work Together

Tax, property, compliance and resolution don’t sit in separate boxes. Neither do we.

The traditional model keeps tax, property, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution separate: four advisors, four reporting cycles, four sets of assumptions that rarely talk to each other. Our integrated model means the four practices share information as a matter of course, so nothing falls through the gap between them.

Your rental income changes

Your provisional tax position changes with it.

We see both and adjust your plan before filing season.

You acquire a new property

Stamp duty, capital allowances, and rental income tax all need structuring.

One team handles the property side and the tax side from day one.

A tenant leaves unexpectedly

A vacancy affects your income, which affects your tax estimate.

We account for it across both disciplines without you chasing two advisors.

Your business expands into a new sector

New regulatory bodies apply, and the licensing requirements may affect how you're structured for tax.

Our compliance and tax practices coordinate so you're set up correctly from the start, not patched up later.

A compliance gap surfaces during a property deal

A licence or certificate issue can delay or block a transaction.

We identify compliance exposure during due diligence, not after signing.
